Leitrim Sculpture Centre are offering 5 residencies to visual artists in 2010/11.

Deadline is 5pm, June 18th, 2010, Notification by July 9th 2010.

About S.L.A.M!

S.L.A.M! (Sligo Local Artists Movement) is a network established by local artists Lisa Cannon, Shane Finan, Sophia Murray & Siabhra O' Brien. It is for Artists working in all genres living in the Sligo area and the NorthWest.
The intention of SLAM is give Artists the opportunity to organize, produce & curate their own events, exhibitions & talks rather than waiting for organizations to accommodate them.
SLAM wishes to create a community of Artists from all genres to work together and take their own initiative.

While the artists named above are the co-founders of the establishment the object is to withdraw from the idea of there being a figure head and more a collective of creative minds.

This blog and our facebook page is available for Artists to advertise exhibitions (their own or other) engage with each other about different topics & discussions or to alert them on events around the country.

If you have ideas for an event or group exhibition that you'd like to see artists get involved with send us an email and we'll post it up on the blog, if your a member on our facebook page you can put it in the discussions box yourself.
